It's a new semester!
I've been away recently, sorry about that. This is because I once again must get ready for a new semester of college. My classes start again on August 25 and suffice to say I was not prepared for the impending doom!
I had textbooks to buy, financial aid to sort out, professors to check on, classes to CLEP out of, and supplies to buy. (My room also needed cleaning, but who has time for that I ask you?) I've pretty much been running around all crazy-like, annoying the staff of my college, and being a general pain in the ass. BUT I now have everything sorted, so I am not apologetic in the least!
This semester is pretty important to me actually. Besides the fact that it's one step closer to being finished with college, I'm finally getting back to my education classes. Due to the infinite wisdom of the Florida Board of Governors, I was held back a whole semester because I had yet to complete the math section of the CLAST test. Mind, I have a 3.7, and an A in all of my major classes. But this of course wouldn't make a fucking bit of difference. I have basically been sitting on my ass for the last semester, taking bullshit 2000 level classes when I should have been in 4000.
Thankfully, I was able to obtain a waiver for the test and now may move on. But to just add salt to the wound, this past month that same sucktastic organization has gotten rid of the test completely. When I heard that, I literally saw red. ARGH!!!! Politics are so annoying.
However, I am excited for my classes. I'm taking Human Development/Learning, The Image of Women in Literature, Language Principles and Acquisition, and Community Leadership Practicum. Only 4 classes, but it adds to full-time 12 credits. I wanted to take it easy, since I haven't been in anything hard for a while. I hope I do well. My Lit class is taught by Moss, who is a terror. I'm not that worried though; I survived her once before, I'll do it again.
Thinking positively will go a long way this year, so my life is really focused on that.
