"Saying 'I notice you're a nerd' is like saying, 'Hey, I notice that you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he's done all right for himself."— John Green

I really can't resist a good meme. Mostly because I feel it is an easier way of introducing myself by answering prefabricated questions, than trying to come up with the questions.

What is your current obsession? TV would be at the top of that list. As I'm typing this I'm waiting for the new True Blood episode to be put online (I am a poor college student with no HBO. Don't get me going on the shows I'm waiting to come one, that's for another post.) I also have been consumed by music lately. I can't get 3OH!3's song "Don't Trust Me" out of my head and off my playlist.

What is your horoscope and do you relate? I am on the cusp of Capricorn and Aquarius. Both of these signs are different, and I feel neither one matches me very well. I don't take much stock in predictions like this.

What are you wearing today? Today was the first day back to classes for me. I wore a blue/green/yellow/white striped skirt, a white blouse, and blue boat shoes. I had on my favorite headband (royal blue) and wore my hair in curls. I try to dress up every day the first week, mostly so when I come in looking like shit people remember that I can look nice.

What is the last thing you bought? I bought Chick-Fil-A for lunch. Limited budget until Friday. But the last non-food item I bought was some school supplies.

What do you think about the person who tagged you? I didn't have anyone "tag" me but I did read the meme and steal it from Sparkle and Glitter, which is a fabulous blog; everyone should check it out.

What’s for dinner? Dinner was sesame noddles and chicken stir-fry.

What’s your favorite decade, fashion wise? I really love 1950s old-school glamor. I also gravitate towards the bright, funky colors of the 80s. Mixing vintage with current styles is also a must.

What are your must haves for summer? Sunscreen is #1! Living in FL is hell on the skin. Skirts and airy dresses are also my go to items. I love jersey dresses because you can play them up or down depending on where you're going. Also no wrinkles is great for those long summer tours. Last but not least is a reusable water bottle. I have a 48oz one which I am constantly filling up. Again FL is hell and your body must be protected.

What would you love to be able to afford? A real vacation to a spa/hotel (fully catered), preferably in any of the following cities to maximize tourist time: Boston, NYC, LA, Seattle, London, Sydney, or Tokyo. I just want to get out of Tampa for a little bit without having to be on a volunteering project.

What is your favorite piece of clothing from your wardrobe? I have this blue shirt that I love. It is a deep royal blue and 100% cotton knit. It breathes amazingly well in the FL heat. I'm actually wearing it tomorrow.

What is your dream job? Writer. Straight forward and simple. Until then I'm sticking to my runner-up career of English teacher. I figure I can work on the book thing over the summer.

What is your favorite magazine? I have two favorite magazines. The first is Bust. This is an amazing feminist magazine. Very empowering to women especially young single women. The second is Relevant. This is a progressive Christian magazine, which discusses culture and how a young person may fit God into that culture. Not preachy at all and very uplifting for someone who's lost track of religion in their lives.

Describe your personal style? As a larger woman, I really pay attention to how clothes form to my body. I do not wear things that don't fit because that is just bad taste. I feel my style is over the place in terms of "genre". I can do the preppy thing one day and 360° to punk the next. But I am girly at heart, so I always have earrings, headbands, and make-up on no matter what.

Which Beatle is your favorite? Paul McCartney. I love his singing and I love the conspiracy theory surrounding him.

What are you proud of? Many things, some of which are small and some of which are big. But I think I'm the most proud of my relationship to my family. These days you hear about more and more broken homes. I am lucky to not have to deal with that in my life.
