"Saying 'I notice you're a nerd' is like saying, 'Hey, I notice that you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he's done all right for himself."— John Green

Some Insight

(from A Softer World)

1. Where do you find inspiration?
I find inspiration all over, but there are some specific sites that I frequent to get ideas both for online and offline
And many more, but those 7 are my daily go to sites.

2. Have you got any hobbies or interests you’ve let lapse & wish you would take up again?

I really regret giving up the trumpet. I played for 8 years and was classically trained. I wish I would have pursued playing in college, but my life lead me to do more writing then music. I don't regret giving up band to do newspaper, and working on my writing through newspaper and writing group during college, but I sometimes have the itch to pick up the trumpet and blow.

3. One tea party. Ten invitations. Who do you invite?
This is such a easy and hard question. Easy for the first 5 but then hard for the last 5.
  1. My sister, Melissa
  2. John Green
  3. Mitchell Davis
  4. Nathaniel Fick
  5. Barack Obama + Michelle Obama (CHEATER! LOL)
  6. Gala Darling
  7. All of the 5 Awesome Girls (I'm a cheater again LOL)
  8. Rebecca Woolf
  9. Tony Blair
  10. Tessa (aka Meekakitty)
Yes I believe that is a suitably eclectic group for tea.

4. Who was your favorite teacher at school & why?
As I am still in school, I am going to say one of education professors, Professor Edge. She taught my High School Methods class, my High School Practicum class, my Grammar for Teachers class, and now my Teaching Reading class. She is my Educational Idol. I agree with her viewpoint on student involvement and teaching strategies. Her focus on community ans student-centered classrooms. I just am so extremely grateful that I have her as a mentor and professor.

5. Have you ever been in a long-distance relationship?
Nope, never. Unless you count the 2 months my boyfriend in high school was in Jamaica with his father over summer vacation (which I don't). I don't plan on ever having a long distance relationship. I'm not emotionally strong enough to be away from the man I love for that long.
