What I Like Saturday

SATURDAY!

•  "Oz" is the nickname for the Oswald State Correctional Facility, formerly Oswald State Penitentiary, a fictional maximum-security prison. Set in "Emerald City" ("Em City"), an experimental unit of the prison in which the unit manager, Tim McManus, attempts to emphasize rehabilitation and learning responsibility during incarceration, as opposed to pure punishment. Emerald City is an extremely controlled environment in which there is a controlled number of members of each racial and social group, with the hope of easing tensions among these various groups.
       I am falling in love with this intensely inappropriate show.  It is gritty, and dirty, and full of racism and murder, as well as a lot of sex.  BUT the writing is tight and, I can only assume, true to life.  This show makes me love then really hate each of the characters in turn.  My favorite prisoner has to be Beecher.  He is pretty crazy this season and I don't know what to expect next.

       I got this camera to replace my old Pentax Optio M10.  That camera bit the dust January 2010.  JANUARY!  Almost an entire year.  I spilled water on it.  I know, I know, it's my fault, but it's been hard because I've had to use my Pentax K1000, which I love but is not a digital camera, and my Pentax ist DS, which is only a 6.5 megapixel!!!  (OLD). 
  

   

• The weekend you’ve been waiting for is here! No, not the Superbowl. The Gleekend is here! That’s right! Oxygen is bringing you a 12-hour marathon of your favorite Glee episodes.
       I am in Gleek heaven!!!  I love love love this show, and even auditioned (just for fun) for it.  Got one call back but...ultimately no.  Damn!  So I just get to bask in the awesome second hand.  I do have some problems with the writing, mostly how they represent specific characters, but still love it!
  

 

• You know you're from Florida if....
       This is all so very true.  I found this in my college newspaper (that's why the quality is so crap), and I just laughed super hard.  Especially wearing flip-flops everywhere, even to church, thing.  Let me know if any of these apply to you!

• iPod nano has been completely redesigned with Multi-Touch — the same technology that makes iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch so amazing. Now it’s half the size and even easier to play. And everything you want to hear is just a tap or swipe away.
     Love my new iPod (I have the pink one!!!)  The only problem is there aren't many accessories for it yet.  I'm anxiously waiting for a new radio receiver which works for 6th gen nanos.  Come on Apple, work with me!
