"Saying 'I notice you're a nerd' is like saying, 'Hey, I notice that you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he's done all right for himself."— John Green

Top Ten Tuesday (8)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because they are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. They'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week they will post a new Top Ten list complete with one of their bloggers’ answers. Everyone is welcome to join. All they ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND post a comment on our post with a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post to share with us and all those who are participating. If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
The topic this week is: Top Ten Books I'm Excited To Read in 2012

  1. A Million Suns by Beth Revis: I loved Across the Universe SO SO much that I rally can't wait to find out what happens.  I was even lucky enough to get to hear the first four chapters back in September read by Beth herself!  It is so good!
  2. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green: I own each of John's books, and I need to have this one!  His writing is fantastic and relatable and hilarious and heartbreaking and and and...I could go on for the rest of the post!  I was lucky to grab a chapter sampler of the first two chapters at NCTE, and it immediately hooked me!  Can't wait!
  3. Cinder by Marissa Meyer: I know it came out today, but I have an ARC to dig into immediately!  My Teaser Tuesday is on Cinder.  It is really funny so far, and a great premise!  Too excited!
  4. Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver: LOVED Delirium, it was one of my Top Books for 2011.  Pandemonium looks like it's going to be as amazing!  And I have an ARC so I don't have to wait!!!  It's next on my TBR list!
  5. Fever by Lauren DeStefano: Speaking of books I can't wait to read!  I was blown away by Wither, and I need to know what happens to Rhine!!!  I loved her so much, and was terrified of House Governor Vaughn that I need need to read this NOOOOW!
  6. Above by Leah Bobet: It sounds so good!  A mix between fantasy and dystopia with exploration of the underground and the above ground!  Also the cover is gorgeous, and I'm always a sucker for pretty covers!
  7. Loss by Jackie Morse Kessler: I loved her first book Hunger, am currently reading her second book Rage, and can't wait to continue to read about the Riders of Apocolypse in Loss!
  8. Truth by Julia Karr: I feel like XVI was an underrated book, which is sad because it was so good!  Truth, the second book in the series, sounds like it's going to be just as good and more intense!  I can't wait to see what happens to Nina and the Resistance!
  9. The Selection by Kiera Cass: Another cover that caught my attention immediately!  The premise is like The Hunger Games with dancing and becoming the princess!  I'm really intrigued by it and can't wait!
  10. Fracture by Megan Miranda: Another great book that has an interesting premise.  Coming back from the dead with a weird pull toward the dead?  Awesome!
So that's my list!  I'm going to have a lot of fun reading all of the books!  Link me to your Top Ten List or leave the list in the comments!  If you've read any of the books above, let me know what you thought!  DFTBA!
