"Saying 'I notice you're a nerd' is like saying, 'Hey, I notice that you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he's done all right for himself."— John Green

Top Ten Tuesday (16)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because they are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. They'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week they will post a new Top Ten list complete with one of their bloggers’ answers. Everyone is welcome to join. All they ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND post a comment on our post with a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post to share with us and all those who are participating. If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
The topic this week is: Top Ten Books You'd Like Made Into A Movie

Each of these books were picked because the stories were awesome, and I think either the scope of the story lends itself well to a blockbuster film, or the minutiae of the characters would make an interesting character film.  Let me know what your picks are in the comments!!

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

The Last Princess by Galaxy Craze

Across the Universe by Beth Revis

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Looking for Alaska by John Green

The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter

Starters by Lissa Price

Delirium by Lauren Oliver

Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry

Divergent by Veronica Roth

  1. Anna and the French Kiss was on my list too. Your list is full of great books. I've heard about Rot and Ruin. Zombies, right? Now, that would be a great movie!

  2. Across the Universe would make a GREAT movie!!

I wouldn't so much like Anna and the French Kiss, because I don't think anyone could/would do that book justice.

Check out my Top Ten / Teaser Tuesday!

  4. I'd be interested in Across the Universe as a movie just so I can see how they would show the Ship as well as how everyone coexists on it! Just to see the Feeder level would be quite cool. And I've not yet read Starters (the blue eye is staring at me from my desk haha), the premise and cover definitely lend itself to some potentially fun Hollywood hijinks.

  5. Divergent & Across the Universe would make excellent books - those are the only 2 I've read from your list.

  7. Great list! I'd pick Anna and the..., Divergent, Starters and Rot&Ruin for big screen, too.
I'd love to see a good zombie movie and Rot&Ruin would be just perfect.

  8. I would have to agree with a desire for an Anna movie and a Divergent movie! They both have such amazing film potential :)
