"Saying 'I notice you're a nerd' is like saying, 'Hey, I notice that you'd rather be intelligent than be stupid, that you'd rather be thoughtful than be vapid, that you believe that there are things that matter more than the arrest record of Lindsay Lohan. Why is that?' In fact, it seems to me that most contemporary insults are pretty lame. Even 'lame' is kind of lame. Saying 'You're lame' is like saying 'You walk with a limp.' Yeah, whatever, so does 50 Cent, and he's done all right for himself."— John Green

Top Ten Tuesday (27)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because they are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. They'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Each week they will post a new Top Ten list complete with one of their bloggers’ answers. Everyone is welcome to join. All they ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND post a comment on our post with a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post to share with us and all those who are participating. If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
The topic this week is:

Top Ten Favorite Books Read During the Lifespan of My Blog!

Instead of writing a blurb about why these books are my favorite, I've linked my reviews to each book in the title.  Please read them, and find out EXACTLY why these books ROCK!

Across the Universe by Beth Revis
Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry
The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson
Zombies VS Unicorns edited by Holly Black & Justine Larbalestier
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green & David Levithan
The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Divergent by Veronica Roth

  1. Awesome list! We have Across the Universe, Anna and Divergent in common. Delirium and Dash & Lily are wonderful too. It was so hard to leave off so many favorites this week! Rot & Ruin also looks great. Thanks for sharing your list :)

  3. I loved Divergent, but it didn't make the cut. I also really loved Delirium. I listened to the audio version and the narrator was magical!

  4. Across the Universe is indeed a very good book. One of my favourite series. See, I knew I forgot something. Well, I read so many great books, it's hard to decide which ones go on the list. I like your list! Haven't read Divergent yet, but it sounds awesome. :)

  9. Love your post. I'll admit I have read exactly none of the books on your list, but "The Name of the Star" looks interesting.
I'm actually an author as well as a blogger. Looking for good readers to let me know their thoughts on my work or the work of my fellow authors. If you're at all interested, I'd be willing to supply a digital copy of one of our novels. Pick one out at engenbooks.com if interested. I write YA thrillers.
    Again, love the post.
